Double-Page Spread Fourth Draft

I changed the size of the text and added some more text to the interview so that at the end of the interview there isn't as much blank space. I did this as magazines don't usually have big blank spaces like that, it isn't conventional.

Double-Page Spread Improvements and Third Draft

I have changed the layout of my text so that it could be made bigger so it is clear to read.

I have added a drop cap at the start of my interview as this is conventional of magazine articles.

I have also changed the colour scheme of my contents page to make it fit my house style more.

I have also changed the font of the page numbers to match the font used for my page numbers on the contents page to show maintain a house style.

I have also changed the colour of the boxes around the page numbers to match the red of the stand-first so that the page flows better.

I have also changed the opacity of some of the red overlays on the images so that they are more vibrant as some of them looked more pink that red.

I moved the stand-first down slightly so that the distance between it and the pull-quote and distance between it and the interview text is more even.

Contents Page Improvements and Second Draft

I have made the page numbers smaller so I can added more stories to make the page seem fuller so there are less gaps.

I have also added a caption on each image explaining who they are and why they feature on the contents page, this caption also links to the description about them in the contents.

I have then added a drop shadow on the main feature story image to make it look less photo-shopped.

I changed the page number from 08 to 09 in case my double-page spread interview needs to carry on to another page.

I also made the plug a bit bigger.

Double-Page Spread Draft Two

Experimenting With Colour - Double-Page Spread

After getting some feedback from my teacher, I decided to try different colour schemes for my double-page spread to see which looked best and which one fit the house style and genre of my magazine.

BLACK AND WHITE

BLACK AND WHITE WITH RED OVERLAY

BLACK AND WHITE OVERLAYS ON IMAGES IN COLOUR

This one is my favourite because it fits the house style of my magazine the best by combining the original colour of the images with the black and red overlays which are my house style colours.

Teacher Feedback

My teacher looked at my first final drafts and gave me some areas to improve my front cover, contents page, double page spread and planning and research. If I make all the changes given and continue to work the way I am, then I should be on track to achieving really high grades for this coursework.

The changes my teacher has suggested I make are:

Front Cover
  •       Try making the main feature story smaller and adding another feature at either side of the image.
  •       Make the text in the footer black.

Contents Page
  •       Make the page numbers a bit smaller so I can add a few more stories to each section, this will make the page seem fuller.
  •       Add a caption on each image explaining who they are and why they feature on the contents page.
  •       Add a drop shadow on the main feature story.

Double Page Spread
  •      Try using a different colour scheme, maybe red and black and compare this to your original.
  •      Make the text a little bit bigger so it takes up the whole of the space.
